Sometimes if person has been abused either physically or emotionally, they tend to distrust and withdraw from human contact. This often leads to loneliness and a feeling of isolation. They began to center on themselves and self-pity begins to creep in.
This is exactly the position the devil wants to place them.
The cure for this condition is for them to sow themselves into other people’s lives.
Proverbs 18:24 says that he who wants friends must show himself friendly.
The same holds true for love. You may say “but I can’t give love” Then show yourself kind to other people and love will grow!
Do you notice how a lonely person will focus on himself more than anyone else.

Their whole personality is warped around themselves. If they ever do reach out to help someone else, it is mostly by accident.

If you want to self destruct swiftly, start focusing on yourself all the time. That is what happened to Satan. I will ascend, I will be like ….He had so many I’s that he could not see anything else. When we give or plant ourselves unselfishly into another person’s life we begin to regenerate our own life.

This is why pets are so popular. They give into our lives even when we neglect or don’t appreciate them. The Bible says to ask the animals and they will teach you.

What is one of the steps to avoid loneliness, boredom and self- pity?

It is to do as much good as you can to as many people as you can as often as you can.

You will have very little time or energy left to contemplate on yourself
